Barklands is a bespoke dog grooming salon in the heart of Locking Village Weston-Super-Mare founded by Kayla in 2022. Specializing in small to medium breeds on a 6-8 week grooming schedule. We use quality tools and natural shampoos to ensure the best care for your dogs. A small range of shampoos and pawfumes are available to purchase in the salon. Our founder has 20 years in the animal care industry and almost 10 years in the dog grooming trade, with animal management and dog grooming qualifications. Check out our Testimonials! At Barklands we offer a range of services from nail trimming to full grooms and de shedding to hand stripping. Using quality natural based shampoos and products that are kind on your pets and the environment. We always put humanity over vanity and act in the welfare of the dog for their grooming requirements. Every dog is different and they are treated as individuals so prices quoted are a guide only and may fluctuate depending on coat condition, dog size, age, behavior's, health issues and additional time. Our puppy grooms are aimed to introduce puppies into the salon environment step by step and at their pace. They are 1 hour long and cover, bathing, drying, nail trim, hygiene trim, face trim and a ear clean. If we feel the puppy is unsure of anything we will slow it down and give feedback for owners to do at home. Its important to get your puppy used to grooming as soon as possible especially for curly coated breeds that will need regular grooming.
Help combat the shedding with our de-shed service, your dog will be pre-brushed and bathed using a quality natural de-shed shampoo and conditioner to help release the dead coat, the coat will be blast dried and brushed dried and then de-shed using specialist de-shedding tools.

Basic tooth brush and tooth paste service is available or we also offer the fantastic Emmi-Pet Ultrasonic teeth cleaning a completely silent, non vibrating and non invasive tooth brush that uses ultrasound waves, toothpaste and water to help break down tartar and plaque and kill bacteria. A consultation is required and may not be suited for all dogs and we may refer you to a vet if the plaque and tartar built up is severe.
Hi! Thanks for your interest in my bespoke dog grooming salon! I love all things dogs and animals! I am City and Guilds qualified and also hold a BTEC animal management qualification. I have been in the animal care industry since 2012 and worked in a variety of places since, zoos, kennels, catteries, pet stores, dog play schools, home boarding and of course dog grooming. My dog grooming career started in 2015 at a coporate salon and I worked my way up to managing one of their busiest salons in the area. I decided to seek additional training and got my city and guilds qualification in 2017. I loved watching the salon grow, building and training my team. In 2021 I decided it was time to work for myself so I freelanced in Clevedon until 2022 when I found my perfect location in Locking village to create Barklands. I want you to have a personal yet professional experience so that you can trust I am the right groomer for you and your dog. I treat each dog as an individual and I will love and treat them as my own.
